New: translation that sticks. Choose Always Translate for a language and its pages translate on their own, every time. Choose Never Translate and Akari stops offering it. A Translate button now sits in the address bar on pages in another language. Tap it to translate, tap again for the original, or touch and hold for more languages. Translate a language by hand twice and Akari offers to always translate it. Manage both lists in Settings. Translation runs on your iPhone with Apple's translator, free for everyone.

New: a short welcome screen lets you make Akari your default browser in one tap, so links from Mail, Messages and other apps open in Akari with ads blocked. You can switch back any time in iOS Settings.

Akari Pro, an optional upgrade: Focus Mode, Block Lists, Hide Element, Hide Annoyances, Video Speed and app icons. Monthly, yearly or once. Everything that was free stays free. Translate Page is much faster. It translates what's on screen first, keeps links and formatting, and picks up new content as it loads. Ready for iPhone Duo. Your saved passwords now sync between Akari on iPhone, Mac and Windows, end-to-end encrypted. Tap a login field and Akari offers to fill it, confirmed with Face ID. Akari can also fill your passwords in other apps with AutoFill.

Privacy and security improvements: - Private tabs are always hidden in the app switcher, even without Face ID lock. - Private Peek and sheets close when you leave Akari. - Pages can't open other apps or start calls unless you tap something. - Files downloaded in private tabs are temporary and cleared the next time Akari opens. - Cleaner links can no longer get stuck reloading a page.

Passkeys, fewer ads, and a quick way to look before you leave: - Passkeys: sign in with the passkeys saved on your iPhone, right in Akari. - Default browser: Akari can now be your default browser. Set it in Settings > Apps > Akari. - Block Video Ads: video ads are taken out before they play, and sponsored posts are hidden. Turn it off in Settings. - Peek: long-press a link and choose Peek to see it in a card over the page, then open it as a tab or close it. - Pop-up blocking: pages can't open new tabs or windows you didn't ask for. - Cleaner links: tracking tags like utm_source and fbclid come off links before the page loads. - Send Feedback: text or email us from Settings. We read every message. - The menu fits on screen, with New Tab, Private, History and Settings in one row at the top.

Akari now runs on iPad, and it does a lot more: - Background Play: videos and music keep playing when you leave Akari or lock your iPhone. - Picture in Picture from the menu, on any video. - Summarize Page: a quick summary of any page, and answers to your questions about it, made on your device with Apple Intelligence. - Shields now hides "we use cookies" banners, in Akari and in Safari. - Lock Private Tabs with Face ID. - Import bookmarks and history from Safari or Chrome. - Pick your search engine: Google, DuckDuckGo, Brave Search, Bing, Ecosia or Kagi. - Keyboard shortcuts on iPad and with a hardware keyboard.

History: see every page you've visited by day, search it, swipe to remove, or clear the last hour, today or everything. Pages you visited on your Mac show up too. Toolbar: pick up to three buttons next to the address bar (Back, Forward, History, Share, Favorite, New Tab, Reader). Translate Page, Close All Tabs, and Akari Shields for Safari. Signing in to Google works again with Shields on.

Akari now tells iOS it can open web links, the first step toward letting you pick it as your default browser.
