Font Inspector helps designers, developers, and typography enthusiasts explore font files, inspect glyphs, and create font subsets—all without installing the font.

- EXPLORE YOUR FONTS
Open TTF, OTF, WOFF, and WOFF2 files. Browse font names, versions, styles, copyright and licensing information, Unicode coverage, and OpenType layout features.
- FIND AND INSPECT GLYPHS
Search by character, glyph name, Unicode code point, or glyph ID. Filter by Unicode block, including glyphs without Unicode mappings. Examine outlines, metrics, and Bézier control points in a zoomable inspector. Copy characters and Unicode values directly from the glyph list.
- PREVIEW TEXT
See how your text looks in the font. Adjust font size, kerning, ligatures, and TrueType hinting. Display metric guides and identify missing glyphs. Preview the first 100 characters while keeping your full input intact.
- CREATE FONT SUBSETS
Select individual glyphs or enter text to add the characters you need. Export subsets as TTF/OTF, WOFF, or WOFF2, with options to retain layout features, hinting, additional naming information, and glyph names. Review the output size and retained font tables before saving. Your original file stays unchanged.
- EXPORT SVG OUTLINES
Export individual glyphs or preview text as SVG paths for use in design tools and other projects.
- WORK LOCALLY
Font parsing, previews, and subsetting run entirely on your Mac. No font uploads required.
Supports individual font files up to 50 MB. TTC and OTC font collections are not supported. Color and variable fonts currently display default outlines only; dedicated color previews and variable-axis controls are not available.
