The sun went out long ago. Ash and shadow swallowed the world, and the last lantern burns in your hands. Its flame is your life, and every step drains it.
In the dark, platforms, spikes and drops only appear when you get close. Trigger a flash to light the area for a few seconds, hold ghostly bridges in place, push shadows back before they close in. Fire is both tool and companion: ignite torches to create refuges where the lantern slowly refills, burn through thorns, open doors that only unlock for those who can pay in flame.
Every dark stretch is the same question. Spend the flame now to clear the way, or save it for what waits ahead.
Six chapters lead to the Last Beacon: the Ashen Caves, Thornwood, the Sunken Crypt, Shadow Hollow and the Smoldering Ruins. Each brings its own quiet cruelty. Fire-fearing thorns. Sealed doors. Collapsing stone. Creatures that drink the light from your lantern. Ruins where the flame burns twice as fast.
Ninety levels stand between you and the end. Reach the beacon with light to spare and inside the time limit to earn all three stars. Three hidden sparks wait in every level, on high ledges, under thorns, across a jump over the abyss.
Upgrade the lantern with a longer wick, larger reservoir, brighter flash, fire striker, protective glass and an oil pouch. Then Descent begins: an endless fall asking how far you can carry the flame before the dark wins.
If the lantern goes out, the world outside the screen can relight it. Catch light from a lamp, a window or the sun. Bright real light also lets you gather embers for upgrades. At the Forge, the color of any object nearby becomes a new shade for your flame.
For anyone who loves atmospheric platformers, slow-burn tension and stories told through what light reveals and what it hides.
