Cafes, runs, trips, birthdays… everything you did this year becomes an embroidered patch that settles into its month. The things you did often come out big, the rare ones small — so even an ordinary year turns into a full piece.
■ One line a day is all it takes
Write one line about today or add a photo, and the needle stitches a patch into that day's spot. Turn on the daily reminder to keep it going.
■ Tap a patch, open up the month
How many times, how many photos, where you mostly were — all at a glance. Birthday and holiday patches open with confetti.
■ Fill a whole year at once
Bring in Photos, Calendar and your Instagram archive in one go, and watch past months fill up.
■ Your workouts, as patches
Connect Apple Health, and the days you worked out pile up as patches.
■ Your year on one story card
Post your year straight to Instagram Stories as a card or a short video. Photos and places stay off the card.
■ A gallery that grows every year
When the year ends, your embroidery becomes a finished piece in My gallery. Add past years' stories and viva stitches those too.
■ Your photos never leave your phone
Photos are only looked at on your phone. All that leaves it is the short text used to pick patches — single words, or the line you write.

Today's entries are free. Adding earlier days or sharing a story card just takes watching an ad. To skip ads, fill earlier days freely and have your hoop fill itself every day, continue with a viva subscription (1 year or 3 months).

Switch between your hoop and this month's calendar right from Home — see each day's patches at a glance, and pick which one opens first in Settings. Decorate around your hoop with cloth, cross-stitch, hearts and flowers, and use Customize hoop to pick the fabric, hoop, number of patches and month border for each year. Add the Calendar widget to your home screen and swipe through every year in My gallery. Plus other small fixes.
