Did you notice there’s no word for us readers of audiobooks? Anyway, we’re thinking of you. (Or us.)
SISAO is an audiobook player and transcription buddy. Here are a few things you can do with it. Things we wanted for ourselves, so we built them for everyone:
• Listen to your favorite books while you read along. We transcribe them for you and turn the words into searchable text, so yes, you can actually search inside an audio file. We needed that.
• Import audio files from your device, upload them from a browser, or discover free public-domain audiobooks on LibriVox. Supported formats: MP3, M4A, M4B, AAC, WAV, AIFF/AIF, CAF, FLAC, OGG, Opus, and WebM (Opus audio).
• Search for a passage. Heard something you loved? Type in the part you remember and SISAO will find it for you. You can also copy, save, or export the transcript.
• Listen your way. Adjust the playback speed and do all the usual things you’d expect from an audiobook player, but also: try Sleep Mode. As you doze off, the speech gradually slows down and the volume gets softer.
• One pretty cool thing: you can boost the volume beyond the usual limit. Try it. It’s one of those features you don’t know you need until you need it.
• Privacy matters to us. SISAO transcribes your audiobooks entirely on your device—your audio is never uploaded for transcription.
• There are a ton of other features that are intuitive, pretty, and useful. But we’ll let you discover those once you try it.
