The Azores are nine islands spread across 600 km of Atlantic, and the weather on one says little about the next. Ponta Delgada can be in sun while Sete Cidades is lost in cloud. This app shows the weather where you are standing, which trails are open today, and where to swim.
NINE ISLANDS IN 3D
São Miguel is built in. Terceira, Pico, Faial, São Jorge, Santa Maria, Graciosa, Flores and Corvo download the first time you open them: tap the island's name under the map buttons to switch.

- Weather for more than 90 towns and villages across the nine islands, each with the hours ahead. Tap a place on the 3D map.
- Real clouds on the map, from the latest satellite scan, refreshed every ten minutes while the map is open.
- IPMA weather warnings for the island's group: eastern, central or western.
- Trail status from the official Azores trails register, mirrored daily: open, under maintenance or closed. Length, time and difficulty for every route, and where it starts on the map.
- Beaches and natural pools on every island, each with a photograph and what kind it is: sand, pebbles, lava pools or a bathing platform, and whether there is a lifeguard.
- Tide at the island's main town, sea temperature and waves.
- Wind at the island's airport, hour by hour, 3 days out. Where the airport publishes its schedule, the arrivals and departures of the next 12 hours.
READY-MADE DAYS
Day-by-day routes for all nine islands, drawn on the 3D map: numbered stops, timings, notes for families, and the dates the weather favours. Every package is free. There is nothing to buy in the app.
ACTIVITIES
Tours on the island you are looking at - jeep tours, canyoning, wine tastings, boat trips - with rating, duration and price from, and a pin for each on the map. Booking is on Viator, in your own browser; we earn a commission, and the price is the same for you.
WORKS WITHOUT SIGNAL
Screens you have opened stay readable without a connection, and an island you have downloaded stays on the phone. A free account, made with Apple, Google or an emailed code, opens everything beyond the live map. The app has no ads and does not track you across other apps.
SOURCES
Weather warnings come from IPMA, trail status from the official Azores trails register, forecasts from Open-Meteo, and the cloud from EUMETSAT's Meteosat.
