With iCloud sync on, Pax could close by itself the first time you opened it each day. It no longer does.

This update fixes a handful of things, most of them around iCloud: Reinstalling Pax and turning on iCloud now brings back your favorites, calendar days, easter eggs and My Board. A quote you saved stays in your Favorites, even if it’s no longer on a board. Today’s journal page waits for iCloud instead of coming up empty on a new device. Shared quote links, widgets and notifications open where they should, even when something else is showing. “A Saved Quote Each Week” now arrives every week. On a Mac, Save a Copy saves the file where you choose. A shared picture is always the quote you shared. If iCloud can’t sync, Settings › Your Data now says why.

• Pax on iPad: the whole chalkboard on the big screen, two pages side by side when you turn it, keyboard shortcuts, more than one window, and Handoff between your iPhone and iPad. • Sync with iCloud, if you want it: your favorites, reflections, journal, My Board, calendar roses and easter eggs on all your iPhones and iPads. It uses your own iCloud, goes nowhere else, and is off until you turn it on (Settings › Your Data). • Prayers to Our Lady: the Memorare and the Litany of Loreto, free. Plus the Litanies of the Sacred Heart, St. Joseph and the Holy Name. • Pray the Rosary in Spanish, Latin, Italian or French, or together on FaceTime. • Share a quote as chalk writing. • Today’s Rosary widget, today’s mysteries on the watch face, and your favorites on your Apple Watch. • More feast days: the Daily Triad now has its own Scripture, saint and Catechism answer on dozens more saints’ and Marian days, and six new hidden chalk drawings to find. • Real chalk from the Pencil, and an eraser that takes just your writing. • Eight new topics and hundreds of new quotes from the saints. • A “More sections below” button on the home board.

• Pax on the iPhone Duo and other foldables: the board and its topic side by side, prayers and your journal open like a book, a prayer stand when the phone is half open, and a tent layout when it stands on its edges. A quote card can be dragged into your journal. • Write in your journal by hand, free: with your finger or an Apple Pencil, on a ruled page kept with the entry. Search finds your handwriting, and it never leaves your iPhone. • The Apple Pencil is chalk: write or draw on any board. • An examination of conscience, free: the commandments, the precepts and the capital sins with the Baltimore Catechism, simple questions for adults or kids, and how confession goes. Nothing you tick is saved. • Your place in a prayer on the Lock Screen: the Rosary, the Chaplet, the Stations and the novenas. • Ember Days, a free season that comes to the home board in an Ember week. • Swipe sideways to move through your boards. • More for Siri and Shortcuts: the Stations, a novena, the examination, or quotes on any topic. • What’s a temperament? A short guide the first time you open Temperaments. • A better order in Settings, and a journal lock that says Face ID or Touch ID. • Pax opens where you left off if iOS closed it while you were away.

• Pax on Apple Watch, free: pray the Rosary bead by bead with the Digital Crown, read today’s Daily Triad, and turn through the twelve moods’ quotes. It works even without your iPhone. • The Stations of the Cross, free: station by station with St. Alphonsus Liguori, following a chalk path up Calvary. • Two novenas, free: Divine Mercy, from Good Friday, and Pentecost, from the Ascension. • Discernment, free: for anyone asking where God is calling them, to the priesthood, religious life or marriage, and for their parents. Priests share how they knew, from our podcast Before the Collar. • Three new seasons: Christmas, Lent and Easter, each on its own or included with Pax Complete. • Five new topics: Dryness in Prayer, Addiction, A Child Away from the Faith, The Single Life and Losing a Spouse. • My Board, with Pax Complete: the topics you keep coming back to, together on a board of your own. • Past Triads, with Pax Complete: the last 30 days of Daily Triads. • Share a quote and the card carries a link that opens it in Pax. • Save a Copy in Settings › Your Data: take your favorites and journal to a new iPhone. • Fifteen more easter eggs, some hidden deep, and chalk stickers you collect as you find them. • The Angelus line by line at 6, noon and 6, and the Regina Caeli through Easter. • Thousands of new verified quotes, every quote checked again word for word against its source, and gentler boards for grief, illness and loss.
