Open KML and KMZ files on your iPhone or iPad and explore their places, paths, and boundaries on Apple Maps. Keep shared map files in one local library, compare layers, and find the details you need. OPEN YOUR MAP FILES Import .kml and .kmz files from Files, including iCloud Drive. Open attachments and files shared from other apps. Try the included sample map to explore the app before importing your own data. EXPLORE PLACES, PATHS, AND AREAS View supported points, lines, and polygons. Switch between standard, satellite, and hybrid maps. Fit the map to your data or focus on a selected feature. SEE IMAGE OVERLAYS View image overlays from Google Earth KMZ files, such as drone photos, scanned maps, and site plans, in place on the map. Adjust each overlay's opacity to compare it with the map underneath. COMPARE MAP LAYERS Display multiple imported files on one map. Browse nested folders and show or hide files, folders, and individual features to focus on the information that matters. SEARCH AND INSPECT Search feature names, descriptions, folders, and attributes. Tap a feature to inspect its coordinates, description, and available extended data. Show coordinates in decimal degrees, degrees-minutes-seconds, UTM, or MGRS, and copy them in the format you choose. MEASURE LENGTHS, AREAS, AND PERIMETERS See the length of lines and the area and perimeter of polygons. Holes are subtracted from the area, and their edges count toward the perimeter. Choose your units, then copy or share the measurements. Measurements are approximate horizontal values and ignore altitude. They are not suitable for precise surveying. Drawing and GPS track recording are not included. KEEP YOUR LIBRARY ORGANIZED Each file shows a map preview, what it contains, and where it is. Rename, share, and remove imported copies while keeping your original source files separate. Hidden layers, overlay opacity, and map style are remembered for next time. LOCAL FILES, NO ACCOUNT File parsing, search, and library management happen on your device. No account is required. Enable the current-location control when you want to see your position on the map. Imported geometry and images packaged in KMZ files remain available locally. Background maps, library previews, place names, and remote images may need internet. Remote description photos are disabled by default. KML KMZ Viewer is designed for viewing supported map files. Some KML features and styles may display differently or be unsupported. Map editing, file conversion, turn-by-turn directions, and offline basemap downloads are not included.
