Kate is a music player for songs you made yourself. Covers, demos, voice memos, live takes, the rough mix a friend sent you last week. Bring them in and they get what a real music app gives a record: artwork, albums, artists, playlists and lyrics.
LYRICS THAT KEEP UP
Lyrics light up word by word as the song plays. Tap any line to jump to it. Kate can look the lyrics up for you, or you can paste them in or open an .lrc or .txt file. Sync them by tapping along, or let Listen & Align time every word on your iPhone.
THE RECORD BOOTH
Sing with the lyrics in front of you. Record over silence, over your own instrumental, or along with the original song from Apple Music. Only your voice is saved, and the take goes into your library with its lyrics already synced.
THE STUDIO
Fix a take without losing the original. Kate always keeps it.
• Cut, trim, fade, silence and adjust volume on a zoomable timeline
• Finds clicks, pops, knocks, coughs and breaths, and repairs them in one tap
• Noise reduction, de-esser, EQ, compressor, limiter, echo, reverb, key and speed
• Undo, redo, and a Before/After switch
• Ask the Studio: type "cut 0:00 to 0:04" or "warmer with less hiss" and it makes the edit. It all runs on your device.
SHARE A LIBRARY
Your library syncs through iCloud. Invite a bandmate, your choir, your mom, and they can listen and add songs from their own Apple Account. Songs download when you play them, so a big library won't fill up your phone.

NO ACCOUNT, NO ADS, NO TRACKING
Kate has no server of its own. Your songs live on your device and in your iCloud. You don't sign up for anything and there's nothing to subscribe to. If Kate earns a spot on your phone, there's a tip jar in Settings.
