Lumen turns your desktop into a living window. Pick a scene and it plays behind your icons and windows on every display and every Space, as a true replacement for your wallpaper rather than a picture floating on top of it.
DEEP SPACE IN 4K
Fly past galaxies, nebulae and star fields captured by the Hubble and Webb space telescopes, in Ultra HD. Lumen keeps a matching still as your system wallpaper, so the desktop never flashes black.
181 SCENES, 14 COLLECTIONS
Beyond space: cities after dark, oceans, deserts, snow, aurora, wildlife and famous places, every clip in genuine 3840 by 2160. Previews stream as you browse, and a scene downloads only when you choose it.
YOUR OWN VIDEOS
Drag in any video you already have and make it your wallpaper. Lumen keeps its own copy, so moving or renaming the original never breaks your library. Choose the exact frame you want for the still.
MADE TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY
- Pauses automatically when windows cover the desktop, so the animation only runs when you can see it.
- Holds a still frame on battery to save power.
- Always playing, only when the desktop is visible, or always still: you choose.
- Freezes to a still frame instead of disappearing, so your desktop always looks finished.
- Lives in the menu bar when the window is closed: pause, skip to the next scene, or quit in one click.

Lumen never touches your desktop until you press Set as Wallpaper. It keeps a copy of the wallpaper you had, and Restore puts it back exactly.

No account, no tracking, no analytics. Your videos never leave your computer. Lumen only connects to the internet to preview and download the scenes you choose.
