The weather in your menu bar, and now and then it comes to life: sun, clouds, rain, snow or thunder play right below the icon. Free, with no ads or tracking.
Windowsill puts the weather in your menu bar, the way you'd glance out of a window: the current conditions and temperature, always in view. It's a native, lean Mac app that stays out of your way.
Click it for today at a glance: how it is now, today's high and low, the chance of rain, the next 12 hours, hour by hour, and tomorrow. Switch to 10 Days for the days ahead, each with its high, low and chance of rain.
And now and then, the weather comes to life. A little animation plays right below the icon, matching the sky outside: the sun peeking out, clouds drifting by, fog rolling in, rain, sleet, snow or a thunderstorm. After dark they take on a moonlit look, and on a clear night, the moon comes out with the stars. While the menu is open, the sky outside plays right in it, next to the temperature.

• 10-day forecast: one tap away, with each day's high and low on a shared scale, so the week compares at a glance.
• Weather that comes to life: little animations for sun, moon, clouds, fog, rain, sleet, snow and thunder, with a moonlit look at night.
• The sky in your menu: while the menu is open, the weather outside plays in a little window beside the temperature. Click it to see it from the start.
• You choose when they play below the icon: when the weather changes, every hour on the hour, or never.
• Sound, if you like: a soft weather sound with each animation. Off by default, and quiet during a Focus or a call.
• Any city in the world: save a few places and switch between them right from the menu.
• Current Location, if you like: Windowsill follows your Mac as you travel. It's optional: Windowsill works without location access.
• °C or °F: click the unit next to the temperature to switch.
• Always fresh: it updates every hour and when your Mac wakes, shows when it last updated, and refreshes with a click or from the right-click menu.
• Launch at login, so the weather is there every time you start your Mac.
• Native, lean and fast: a tiny footprint, easy on your battery.
• Considerate: animations never play over full-screen apps or during a Focus, pause in Low Power Mode and stay off when Reduce Motion is on, and Windowsill lets you know if its icon is hidden behind the notch.
• Private: no account, no tracking, no ads. The only thing that leaves your Mac is the place you chose, to fetch its weather. Crash reports are sent only if you agree.

• Open Windowsill again while it's running (from Finder, Spotlight or Launchpad) and its menu opens, just as if you'd clicked the icon in the menu bar.
• When a window is open, Windowsill shows in the Dock; quitting from the Dock asks whether to keep it running in the menu bar.
