Support depends on model, firmware and the TV's local-control service. Connect both devices to the same network and allow Local Network access. Follow the pairing code or approval prompt on your TV; Samsung requires Allow, and LG may use approval or a PIN. Roku uses code-free setup; follow the app's guidance if the TV restricts mobile control. Legacy Samsung protocols, soundbars and infrared-only TVs are not supported. Navigation, volume, power, inputs, playback, app shortcuts, and phone typing are available where supported by the connected TV. Save multiple TVs, customize your remote, and use widgets, Shortcuts, large buttons, themes, and sleep timers. Available controls, keyboard and voice depend on the device, TV app and focused field. Samsung phone typing supports English letters, numbers and basic punctuation in compatible system fields; use arrows and OK for its custom YouTube keyboard. Some TV apps require TV controls to finish a search. SmartCast typing is limited to compatible search fields. App shortcuts open supported apps without guaranteeing a particular video will play. Casting requires a compatible receiver, separately from remote pairing. TV power-on needs supported network standby; Fire TV power control is unavailable. Streaming players may not control TV volume, inputs or channels. Discovery and pairing are free, with a limited allowance of remote commands. Unlimited remote control and premium tools require Pro. An auto-renewing weekly or annual subscription unlocks Pro. Prices, billing periods, any eligible trial, and renewal terms appear before purchase. Apple charges your account; cancel at least 24 hours before renewal in Apple Account settings. Restore Purchases is available. No app account is required. TV commands use your local network; pairing credentials are stored in Keychain.
