Aftertale is short fiction for adults, performed by a full cast. A story takes ten to fifteen minutes, short enough to finish before you fall asleep, on the way home or in the bath.

Every voice is a character
Every character has their own voice, and a narrator carries the story between them. The lines are acted: a whisper, a laugh, a pause before someone answers.

As the cast speaks, each word lights up on the page and in the player's caption. Listen, read along, or both.

Start on the page, then tap Listen From Here on any paragraph. The cast picks up where your eyes were.
Tonight's story, chosen for you
It starts with a few questions about your evenings and the stories you like, read aloud by the narrator you pick. Your answers become your story profile, and tonight's story is picked from them. A quiet reminder names tonight's story at the time you set, only on the nights you choose, and the app keeps count of the nights you listen.

Made for the end of the day
- Every story stands alone. When it ends, nothing plays next until you choose.
- Set the sleep timer for the end of the story, or for 5, 10 or 15 minutes. The voices fade out, and your place is kept.
- Playback speed from 0.8× to 1.5×, lock screen controls and AirPlay.
- In the reader: adjustable text, and light, dark and sepia themes.
- Stories you've played recently stay on your device, so they keep playing on a weak connection.
- No account and no sign-up. Your library and your place in each story sync between iPhone and iPad through iCloud.

The stories are written with AI and performed by AI voices. Before a story is published, other AI models review it and check it against strict content rules. Every story's credits say the voices are AI, and no voice is presented as a human narrator.

Prices are in US dollars. Other countries follow the App Store's local pricing, and the app shows your price before you confirm. There's no free trial.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Weekly and Yearly renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel a subscription anytime in your Apple Account settings, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
