Most PDF tools on the web start by asking you to upload your file. With a contract, an invoice or a medical record, that is not a small thing.
PDF Tool Pro works entirely on your Mac. No upload, no account, no background service. A file leaves your machine only if you save it somewhere yourself.
MERGE AND SPLIT
Combine several PDFs into one document in the order you choose. Extract single pages or whole ranges — the page preview shows you exactly what you are selecting.
MAKE IT SMALLER
Reduce file size at a level you pick. Useful for anything that has to go out by email or into an upload form.
PUT PAGES IN ORDER
Rotate, delete and reorder pages, with a preview of each one. Scanned documents in particular rarely come out of the machine the right way up or in the right order.

Combine images into a PDF — or save individual pages as images.
WATERMARKS
Place text as a watermark, with a preview before you save.
PASSWORD PROTECTION
Protect a document with a password. The app also opens protected PDFs: you are asked once, and the document is then available in every area. The password lives only in memory for that one session — it is never written to disk or to the keychain.
Encryption uses AES-128. That is the level the macOS PDF facilities offer when writing; rolling your own encryption is precisely where hand-written code fails most expensively. AES-128 is still considered secure — what matters most is the quality of your password anyway.
SCANNING
Scan directly from a connected or network scanner. Whatever System Settings lists under “Printers & Scanners” is what the app finds.
NO CLOUD, NO ACCOUNT
No sign-up, no ads, no analytics, no subscription. The app collects no data and never goes to the internet itself. Its only network access is looking for scanners on your local network — and that happens only when you open the scanning area. The trial and the purchase are handled by Apple's App Store. The app runs in the macOS sandbox and requests no further system permissions.
