BakBeat Rescue gets the music, videos, audiobooks, and podcasts off an old iPod and onto your Mac — safely, and without iTunes or Finder's "erase and sync" model getting in the way. Plug in an iPod in disk mode, point BakBeat Rescue at it, and it reads the device's own on-device database — the same catalog the iPod itself uses — rather than guessing from a folder scan. That means accurate titles, artists, albums, and playlists, even for files Finder shows only as cryptic names. HOW IT WORKS • Choose the mounted iPod volume and the device model • Click Read Catalog to load the on-device database • Rescue the entire device in one pass — tracks, videos, audiobooks, podcasts, and playlists (written out as .m3u files) — into organized folders at a destination you choose • Or select just the tracks you want and extract only those • Files already present at the destination are left alone, so it's safe to run again SUPPORTED DEVICES iPod nano (7th generation) is detected automatically. Other supported models share a single database format, so you'll confirm the model once — BakBeat Rescue tells you when that's needed. PRIVATE BY DESIGN BakBeat Rescue does its work entirely on your Mac. It has no network access, collects no data, requires no account, and doesn't use analytics — your iPod's contents never leave your computer. REQUIREMENTS An iPod connected and mounted in disk mode, and a destination folder with enough free space for what you're rescuing.
