Greek for life in Cyprus
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Learn the Greek you need in Cyprus, from the alphabet to B1, with studio audio, full timed exams, an AI tutor and the civics test.
Learn Greek for life in Cyprus, from your first letter to A2.
HellaLingo is a complete course set in Limassol. You follow Sami, who has just moved to Cyprus for a new job, through 20 units: finding a flat, ordering a frappé, the farmers' market, the doctor, the bank and the migration office. Each unit tells you what you will be able to do by the end, and four checkpoints, the last a full A2 mock, make sure it stuck.
READ, HEAR, SAY
• Every line in Greek, English and an easy pronunciation guide
• Natural studio voices for every word and phrase, which you can slow down
• Say it yourself and see how much the app understood
AN AI TUTOR, IF YOU WANT ONE
• Chat with a tutor or role-play everyday situations, with goals and hints as you go
• Describe a picture and get your speaking marked like the exam
• Write a text or photograph your handwriting and get corrections with the reasons why
• Uses your own OpenAI or Anthropic key, or your ChatGPT plan. It stays off until you switch it on
READY FOR THE EXAMS
• Practice papers for the A2 Greek exam: reading, writing, listening and speaking, with the questions in Greek and English when you need it
• 529 questions for the Cyprus civics test across all 14 topics, plus timed mock exams marked at the pass levels for long-term residence and citizenship
• Every attempt is kept, so you can look back at your answers and the corrections
WORDS THAT STICK
• A dictionary of 4,490 words and phrases, with every tense of 855 verbs, all with audio
• Search in English, in Greek or in greeklish: kalimera finds καλημέρα
• Flashcards that come back just before you would forget them
YOUR PACE
• Already know some Greek? Test out of a stage and start where you are
• Streaks, study time and every "I can…" goal you reach on the way to A2
• Works on iPhone and iPad
