A new way to browse on the iPhone Duo: the Shelf stands your tapes in a row you can flick through, each case with its tape inside. Fast forward and rewind now sound like a real tape deck: your own music spools by fast and squeaky, or backwards, over a soft motor whirr and tape hiss. And the app is now a much smaller download, with extra looks downloading only when you pick them. The Tape page in Customise also shows more of your tapes at once.

Made for the iPhone Duo. Folded, Cassette Player fits the front screen. Opened flat, the cassette takes over the whole screen on its circuit board, with soft lights travelling along the copper while music plays. Held upright, the cassette sits on top with your library underneath. Half open like a book, your library and the cassette sit side by side. Plus, for everyone: sort your library by album, artist or recently played, see only your Apple Music favourites, and read names more easily with bigger, bolder lettering on the cases. Apple Music albums now play all the way through without stopping.

Apple Music plays again. A fault in 1.0 could stop an Apple Music song a moment after you pressed Play, so the reels turned in silence. This update fixes it: Apple Music tapes play through, song after song, with the key clicks and room listening alongside. Your own music files were never affected. And if a song can't start, the key now pops up instead of the tape running on quietly.
