Making Live Photos actually useful. Spool turns the Live Photos, videos and photos already on your iPhone into one polished movie, without wrestling a timeline. Your Live Photos stop sitting forgotten in the library and become the moments that make the movie. PICK A VIBE, GET A DRAFT Tap the wand, choose Memories, Hype, Chill or Highlights, and pick the days. Spool chooses the best clips, skips the look-alikes, fits the length you asked for and lines everything up in a draft you can still change. YOUR FIRST AND LAST CLIP Tick a first and a last clip, and Spool builds the movie between them. Those two always stay at the start and the end. SMART WITHOUT THE WORK • Groups your clips into moments, so the whole trip is covered, not just the busiest hour • Rates sharpness, light and faces, and drops near-duplicates • Trims long videos to their liveliest few seconds • Adds day titles and places, such as "Byron Bay · Saturday 3 October" • Bounce, slow motion, fast forward and repeats, from Mild to Wild MUSIC, LOOKS AND MOOD • A built-in library of songs that loop under your movie and fade out at the end • Add ocean waves underneath, and turn the clips' own sound down so the music shines • Looks for the whole movie: sepia, noir, golden hour, neon and more • Hear and see your changes together in the live preview EDIT LIKE YOU MEAN IT • Trim with a filmstrip, change speed, repeat, bounce or mute each clip • Draw on a clip, crop it, and drag, pinch and twist captions into place, with emoji, colours and the place name • A different transition at every join: fade, dissolve, slide, wipe, circle, pixelate, dip to black • Fill, Fit, or Fit + blur, in portrait or landscape • Steady shaky videos, and a slow zoom on photos BUILT FOR BIG TRIPS Spool reads your library as you scroll, so even a library of hundreds of thousands of photos stays quick. • Spool now shows ads on iPhone: a small banner in the library and a full-screen ad after a finished movie (never more than one every few minutes). A one-time purchase, Remove ads, turns them off for good. Find it in the Archive menu. • Combine takes more clips: up to 12 as rapid cuts, 9 as a collage and 8 as a stack. Collage and Stack are also more reliable on iPhone. • If a combined clip can't be put together, Spool now tells you why instead of quietly showing only the first clip. • Fixed: clips you had picked could be lost if Spool was closed while it was still opening. • Fixed: Clear now clears everything, including old edits and combined clips. • Fixed: saved drafts keep the clips inside combined clips, and opening a draft with missing clips no longer lets Update delete them. • Fixed: Rapid cuts failing for some clip counts, the end of some trimmed clips showing black, and Reset in the editor removing a combined clip's group. • Fixed: the buttons under the timeline could stop responding, and tapping a clip while the movie was updating could leave a spinner that never finished. • Long GIFs now explain the 45 second limit instead of running out of memory. • Smoother scrolling and picking in large libraries, and better VoiceOver labels.
