Check your family's school pickup plans, review changes and keep your weekday routine close at hand on iPhone and Apple Watch.
Pickup Buddy is an independent companion for families who already use PickUp Patrol. You'll need an existing PickUp Patrol parent account for live use. Your school controls the available options and change deadlines.
Includes initial iPhone Duo support: browse four weeks in Today on the unfolded display or one week on the front display, with the Change calendar beside your children's plans when unfolded.
Plan your school week
• See each child's dismissal plan in Today and browse school dates in the calendar.
• Change plans for one or more children and dates, with a shared note or separate notes by child or day.
• Choose from your school's dismissal options, including bus, car pickup, walking or absence where offered.
• Enter early-dismissal times and car numbers when the selected school option supports them.
• Report late arrivals or leave-and-return plans, and review or remove saved requests.
• Review, edit and confirm usual weekday plans, or restore a day's usual plan where your school allows it.
• Save local presets for dismissal, late arrival and leave-and-return plans. Applying a preset fills the editor for your review before you submit.
Use Siri and Shortcuts on iPhone
• Ask for a child's pickup plan, the family's plans or the change deadline.
• Prepare supported pickup and attendance changes, including selected dates or several children.
• Read usual plans, manage supported weekday routines and apply eligible saved dismissal presets.
• Call a child's school using its available contact number.
Changes require confirmation and follow your school's rules. Siri may ask you to choose a child, date or exact school option.
Keep plans on your wrist and screens
• Sign in on Apple Watch, refresh directly from the school and review supported dismissal, late-arrival and leave-and-return changes.
• Use the Watch app with its own internet connection, even when your iPhone isn't nearby.
• See saved summaries in iPhone Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, Watch complications and per-child Smart Stack cards.
• Choose which children appear in configurable widgets and set when Today advances to the next school day.
• Open the app from a widget to see the full plan or prepare a change.
Make it work for your family
• Enable local reminders before your school's change cutoff, with a choice of lead time and private notification text.
• Manage PickUp Patrol email confirmations separately from device reminders.
• Use school-enabled health screening when your school provides it.
• Find school contact details, bus-route links when provided, Help and FAQ, and the getting-started tutorial.
• Choose an English or Spanish interface, child avatars, and the Morning Bus or Original iPhone app icon.
• Manage your saved sign-in, change your password and sign out from Settings.
Family Sharing is supported for up to six family members. Access to your school's PickUp Patrol account is separate.
Try a fictional sample family before signing in. Sample changes stay in memory, disappear when you exit and never reach a school.
Widgets, Siri responses and offline views may show saved information that is out of date. Refresh for current plans, and wait for the app's saved confirmation before treating a change as confirmed. Reminders depend on loaded plans and your device's notification settings. For urgent changes, contact your school using its usual procedure.

This update adds initial iPhone Duo support.

• On iPhone Duo, Today has closer spacing and a week panel that meets the left edge with rounded right corners. Standard iPhones keep an edge-to-edge week panel.
• View the Change calendar beside your children's plans, with consistent row spacing for families with multiple children.
• See change markers across every month in the visible date range, with fewer unnecessary calendar reads while paging quickly.
• Improved checkout-alert handling when you sign out, switch accounts, turn alerts off or cross into a new school day.
