Lumaquiet creates evolving music and nature sounds on your device for four parts of your day: Focus, Energize, Reflection and Sleep. Each of its 80+ sounds is built on a published study, and the app tells you which one. BROWN NOISE MACHINE A brown, pink and white noise generator for sleep, study and work, plus a speech-masking noise and near-silent room tone. Play noise on its own, or layer brown or pink noise under any music or nature sound and set the balance yourself. DEEP FOCUS MUSIC FOR STUDY AND WORK Choose study music with soft keys, plucks, airy tones, guitar, or felt piano with strings. Or pick beat-locked focus pulses, binaural beats, a quiet café murmur or a riverside. Set a timer or work in 25/5 Pomodoro-style intervals. SLEEP SOUNDS AND SLEEP MUSIC Slow sleep music, a lullaby, a nocturne and music that gradually slows down. Night rain, low tide, a night garden, deep binaural drones and 4-7-8 breathing. When the timer ends, sleep sounds fade out over two minutes, and you can darken the screen for the night. For a midday reset, the 20-minute power nap ends with a gentle melodic wake. BREATHING, MEDITATION AND CALM Calming sounds for the moments in between: paced breathing at six breaths a minute, box breathing, the cyclic sigh, coherent breathing, mantra and humming, singing bowls and soft-tapping ASMR. RUNNING AND WORKOUT MUSIC Running and cycling tempos from 120 to 172 bpm, Tabata and sprint intervals, strength and psych-up tracks, warm-up and cool-down. RAIN, OCEAN AND NATURE SOUNDS Layer soft rain, rain on glass, ocean, wind, stream, birdsong, night crickets, fireplace, pink noise or brown noise under any sound, and set the balance between music and nature. MADE FOR YOU Answer a few questions and Lumaquiet picks a first sound that fits your answers. Save the mixes you love and play them again in one tap. QUIET BY DESIGN No ads, no account and no tracking. Sound is generated on your iPhone, so it plays offline and keeps going with your phone locked, with controls on the Lock Screen. The artwork moves with the music, and the controls step aside while you listen. Play for a set time or continuously for up to 12 hours. THE RESEARCH Each sound names the study it is built on, from beat-locked modulation for focus to slow-tempo music for sleep, with a link to the paper where one exists. Research shapes how each sound is designed; Lumaquiet's own music has not been clinically tested, and the app does not diagnose or treat any condition. SUBSCRIPTION Lumaquiet needs an active subscription or free trial to play. New subscribers to the annual plan can try it free for 7 days; a monthly plan is also available. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
