CraniCalc

pBIG & PECARN Calculators

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

CraniCalc brings PECARN and the pediatric Brain Injury Guidelines (pBIG) together in a native, offline calculator for clinicians caring for children with head injuries. PECARN helps guide the initial head CT decision after minor blunt head trauma. Age-specific questions follow the published decision tree and show the recommendation, the findings behind it, and the risk reported in the study. Study-group percentages are not individualized risk estimates. pBIG classifies traumatic findings identified on head CT and presents the corresponding care plan. A concise patient summary makes it easy to review the entered findings and reopen them for editing. Features include an age-specific Glasgow Coma Scale calculator, clinical references, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and calculation methodology explaining implementation decisions. Calculations run on your device without an account or internet connection. Entries are saved locally and cleared after 24 hours without activity. CraniCalc is intended for clinical decision support. It does not replace clinical judgment, and results should be interpreted in the context of the individual patient.
