nemodot is a pixel art editor for drawing and animating. From tiny icons to a game character's walk cycle, build it one dot at a time.
Drawing
- Pencil, eraser, paint bucket and eyedropper
- Line, rectangle and ellipse
- Brush size and mirror drawing
- Pixel Perfect cleans up corner pixels so diagonal lines stay one pixel thin
- Undo and redo
Select and move
- Rectangle select, lasso and magic wand
- Painting stays inside the selection
- Drag to move, or nudge with the arrow keys
- Copy, cut and paste (even into another drawing), flip horizontally or vertically
Colors and palettes
- Color picker, recent colors and a secondary color
- Add and remove palette colors
- Import palettes (.gpl, .pal, .hex) and export them
Layers
- Add, duplicate, delete and merge down
- Reorder, show or hide, and set opacity
Animation
- Add, duplicate, delete and reorder frames

- Pinch and drag with two fingers to zoom and pan
- Two-finger tap to undo, three-finger tap to redo
- Touch and hold to pick a color
- Apple Pencil: draw only with Pencil, double-tap to switch to the eraser
- Mac: full menus and keyboard shortcuts, right-click for the secondary color, trackpad zoom and pan
