Diopter: Analog Film Camera
Tactile Dials & Film Recipes
Free · In‑App Purchases
Turn your iPhone into an artisanal 35mm rangefinder camera.
Diopter brings deliberate craft back to mobile photography. By replacing harsh smartphone over-processing and flat HDR with real-time silver-halide chemistry and tactile manual dials, Diopter gives you the physical feedback, precision control, and emulsion character of classic analog rangefinders.
AUTHENTIC ANALOG FILM STOCKS (METAL GPU ENGINE)
Every simulation is calculated live at 60fps in Metal Shading Language:
• Documentary Chrome — Muted greens, deep teal skies, and mid-century grit.
• Vintage Neg — Street reportage character with rich reds and cyan-green shadows.
• Golden Neg — 1970s road trip warmth, amber highlights, and creamy shadows.
• Vivid Slide 50 — Iconic reversal slide film with cobalt blues and lush greens.
• Portrait Soft — Delicate Japanese portrait chemistry with gentle highlight roll-off.
• Silver Mono B&W — Classic Zone System silver gelatin darkroom rendering.
• Pastel Neg 400 — Airy pastel tones and subtle contrast for editorial portraits.
• Cine 3200K Tungsten — Motion picture stock with signature ruby-red halation.
• Cinema LUTs — Real-time 35mm print stock, Bleach Bypass, Super 8, and Teal & Orange.
TACTILE PRO MANUAL CONTROLS
Engineered around natural thumb ergonomics with responsive mechanical haptics:
• Shutter Speed: 1/8000s freeze-action down to 1.0s long exposures.
• ISO Gain: Sensor sensitivity from ISO 25 clean dynamic range to ISO 6400 grain.
• Kelvin White Balance: 2000K to 10000K with green/magenta tint correction.
• Manual Lens Focus: Smooth manual dial with high-visibility neon focus peaking.
• Exposure EV: Continuous ±3.0 EV exposure override in 1/3-stop steps.
• Live Instrumentation: RGB Luma Histogram, Highlight Zebras, and Horizon Leveler.
OPTICAL APERTURE & BOKEH (ƒ/1.2 – ƒ/16)
• Dual-Engine Depth: Leverages Apple LiDAR disparity maps and neural segmentation.
• Organic Blur: Silver-halide grain and halation layer naturally over bokeh discs.
• True EXIF: Simulated aperture values are recorded directly into photo metadata.
36-FRAME ROLL DISCIPLINE & DARKROOM
• 36-Exposure Canister: Emulates physical film shooting. Shutter locks when roll finishes.
• Dynamic Island & Live Activities: Track active emulsion and remaining shots live.
• Archival Contact Sheets: Export 35mm Proof Sheets and museum exhibition mats.
