New in 1.2: Phenomenology. Husserl, Scheler and Stein on looking at experience itself, plus layouts made for iPhone Duo. Daily Geist is a tool for learning the works of German philosophers, one short passage a day. Each bite gives you: • The original German, taken from the first edition and kept in its old spelling (Muth, daß, Blüthe) • Our own translation in English, Traditional Chinese or Korean • A 60-second explanation of the idea • One concrete way to use it today Schools so far: German Idealism (Kant, Hegel), Existentialism (Nietzsche, Schopenhauer), the Enlightenment (Kant's "What is Enlightenment?", Lichtenberg), Hermeneutics (Schleiermacher, Dilthey) and, new in 1.2, Phenomenology (Husserl, Scheler, Stein). New schools arrive in regular updates. Every quote names its source: the work, the year of the first edition and the page. Each thinker has a hand-drawn line portrait, and each idea a small drawing that explains it. On iPhone Duo, hold the phone half open to read a bite like a book, or stand it up as a tent for a calm display of today's bite. Calm by design: no ads, no tracking and no feed. The app works offline, and you don't need an account. Sign in with Apple or an email code only if you want your progress back after a reinstall or on a new phone. The app sends counts of which features are used, and you can switch that off in About. One optional daily reminder at 8:00. Pocket the bites you have read and come back tomorrow for the next one.

New school: Phenomenology. Nine bites from Edmund Husserl, Max Scheler and Edith Stein on looking at experience itself: going back to the things themselves, putting a belief in brackets, sour grapes, and what empathy is. Three new portraits and nine new drawings. Hermeneutics and Phenomenology now take turns, so you meet a different school from one day to the next. Made for iPhone Duo. On the cover display, the controls sit in the side bar. Hold the phone half open like a book: the original on the left page, further reading on the right. Stand it up as a tent for a calm display of today's bite. Fold or unfold mid-bite and you stay at the same passage. Optional sign-in with Apple or an email code keeps your pocketed bites and your place after a reinstall or on a new phone. When you sign out or delete your account, you choose whether your progress stays on this iPhone.
