Nhat Nguyet: Family Calendar
Lunar dates, family rites, AI
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Prayer texts for 155 rites, customs of 7 regions, a sourced library of Vietnamese beliefs, and an AI that cites. One person adds a giỗ, the whole family is reminded.
A Vietnamese family's death anniversaries (giỗ), full moons and Tết follow the lunar calendar, so they move every year and are easy to miss. Younger people often don't know what to offer or what prayer to say. Spiritual content online rarely cites sources.
Nhat Nguyet is a lunar calendar and shared reminder book for the whole family, with prayer texts, customs and a sourced library of Vietnamese beliefs. One person adds the giỗ, everyone is reminded; on the day, the app has the prayer, offerings and to-dos.
Family reminders for giỗ and Tết
- Memorial days, birthdays, full and new moon days, lunar or Gregorian, leap months included. Add once; the app moves the date each year.
- Up to three early alerts (a month to a day before) and one on the day.
- Plans for each occasion: who does what. Comments with @mentions. Memory photos sorted by year.
- Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. Apple Watch: lunar date, auspicious hours, upcoming dates.
- Your own dates need no account. Sign in to share them in a group by invite link: 2 groups of 4 people per account. Groups have report and block.
Prayer texts, rites and customs
- 435 prayer texts for 155 rites: giỗ, full moon, Tết, the Kitchen Gods, moving house, shop openings. Fill in names and address once.
- Each rite: timing, offerings, steps, taboos, regional differences; customs of 7 cultural regions and of the Kinh, Tày, Thái, Khmer and Chăm.
- Occasion guides: what to prepare before a giỗ, Tết or wedding, with sources.
A sourced library of beliefs
- Over 1,700 articles on festivals, ancestor worship, customs, the calendar and Eastern traditions. Nearly 400 footnote each claim to book and page.
- Evidence level per field: the calendar is computed and cross-checked; customs are documented; Tử Vi, Bát Tự and the I Ching are one school's rules, not verified.
- Today's page: stem and branch, solar term, auspicious hours. Dates in Vietnam time, checked against NASA and Paris Observatory. 33 open datasets with a DOI.
Nhat Nguyet AI, with sources
- Ask "what to offer at a first giỗ": answers come from published articles, with tappable source numbers.
- It reads your reminders and groups only when asked, and changes nothing.
- Sign-in and consent required: questions go to a third-party language model. Answers can be wrong and can be reported.
Your life, explained: personal readings
- Our engine computes a Bát Tự, Tử Vi or numerology chart from birth data, then applies rules from classical books. Quotes name their book, such as Tử Vi Đẩu Số Toàn Thư and Tam Mệnh Thông Hội.
- Lifetime, year ahead, for your child, career, love, money; bought per reading in-app.
- A language model writes the text and can be wrong. It reports what the books say, not verified: it passes no verdict and replaces no medical, legal or financial advice.
Look-up tools
- Days by occasion, wedding dates, Lỗ Ban ruler, baby names, I Ching, numerology, Tarot.
- Palm and face reading: sign-in required, 5 a month in total.
- Results are for reference, not professional advice.
Optional paid plans, auto-renewing monthly or yearly:
- Đoàn Viên: bigger groups, up to 50 family profiles, 50 AI questions a day, memory photo uploads; the yearly plan includes 1 personal reading a year and a 7-day trial.
- Advanced: no limits within fair use (up to 300 AI questions a day, 500 groups, 500 people per group, 500 profiles); the yearly plan includes 3 personal readings a year, the monthly plan 1 a month.
The calendar, reminders, prayer texts, look-ups and articles need no plan. Price and renewal terms are shown before you confirm.

- No ads; the app does not track you across other apps or websites.
- Your birth date is kept on your phone, sent to our server to compute results, and to your account if you sign in.
