One hill. One bunker. An endless horde. Mine, build, train and hold the line across 100 regions on a hostile planet. When the night ended, nothing at the outpost was left standing. Under a pile of bodies, the mercenary Silas Vane opened his eyes. All that remained was a half-broken work rig and a sealed crate no one had ever opened. The only place to send a distress call is on the far side of the planet. Hold one hill. Then move to the next. A LINE ON THE HIGH GROUND • Send work rigs to mine crystals and fuel, then raise drill halls and bunkers to lock down the hill. • Shooting downhill reaches further, and enemies climbing the slope slow down. The terrain is your weapon. • More rigs, or more troops? The first attack comes sooner than you think. YOU LEAD, THE ARMY FIGHTS • Tap the ground once and Silas Vane leads the squad forward, fighting as he goes. Tap twice and they run past everything. • Orbital strikes, charge orders, grenades and combat stims patch a breaking line. • Riflemen, Hellfires, Corpsmen and Grenadiers on the ground; Interceptors, Escort Frigates and the Flagship in the air. • Build an Artillery Works and set up artillery and missile batteries in the middle of the fight. • Infantry inside a bunker shoot further while the bunker takes the hits. THE HORDE NEVER STOPS • Two enemy factions, the Swarm and the Aetherborn: 29 kinds of attackers, from packs that cover the ground to flyers and giant bosses. • Nests grow in the lowland between waves and make their side stronger until you burn them out. • Flying enemies only fall to anti-air weapons. Your army mix is the answer. • Between waves, open supply drops and pick an upgrade card to turn the fight around. 100 REGIONS, 7 FRONTS Jungle, red desert, glacier gate, forgotten ruins, lava canyon, hive heart and the golden citadel. The maps grow longer region by region, with more resource sites and more room to build. RESEARCH AND GROWTH • Base and mercenary research on research points; bio and alien research on samples taken from the enemy. • Synthesis turns what you learn about each enemy race into new strength. • Silas Vane levels up: spend his points on stats and new skills. • Squad setup: choose which troops follow the commander, and how many. ALSO • Blitz, Side Directives and Endless Mode open as the campaign goes on. • Patrol rewards build up while you are away, and cleared regions can be swept in one tap. • Achievements and rankings. • Every region you hold adds a page to Silas Vane's journal.
