HomeRules puts your house rules on your child's iPhone. Bedtime, school, homework and dinner: the apps you pick lock by themselves, even when HomeRules is closed. When your child asks "Can I have a bit longer?", you give extra time with a code from your own phone. It even works without internet.
HOW IT WORKS
• On your child's iPhone you pick which apps lock. Pick a category, such as Social or Games, and new apps are included too.
• You switch on your house rules: Bedtime, School, Homework, Dinner or your own rule, on the days that suit your family.
• One more minute? On your own phone, tap +15 min, +30 min, +1 hour or +2 hours. You get an eight digit code. Your child types it in and the apps open right away. When the extra time is up, they lock again by themselves.
NO SURPRISES
Five minutes before a rule starts, your child gets a heads-up. The Lock Screen and the top of the screen show until when it lasts. The lock screen always says which rule applies and when the app is back.
NO SPYING
HomeRules doesn't read messages, doesn't track location and sends nothing to us. No account, no server. The link between your phone and your child's stays on the two phones.
WITH FAMILY SHARING
If your child is in your Family Sharing, you sign in once with your Apple Account on your child's phone. After that your child can't remove or switch off HomeRules. Without Family Sharing, HomeRules runs in light mode. Your child can switch it off then, and we say so plainly.
A PIN AS BACKUP
Phone not at hand? Your own PIN opens the settings or gives extra time on your child's phone itself.
AN HONEST ANSWER
HomeRules makes your agreements easier to keep, but it isn't a vault. Wiping a phone completely removes HomeRules too. Talk about it together: they're your rules.
FREE, EVERYTHING INCLUDED
HomeRules is free. Nothing to buy in the app or anywhere else. Codes for extra time are free too: you make them in HomeRules on your own phone. No subscription, no account, no ads.
