Homemade fruit liqueurs without the guesswork.
In Poland almost every family has a jar of nalewka steeping somewhere: sour cherries in summer, quinces in autumn, green walnuts in June. Making it is a pleasure, but it is easy to forget what needs doing and when, and even easier to get the proportions wrong. This app keeps track for you.
Every recipe has been checked against several sources and is written step by step, with the waiting time for each step. The fruit calendar shows what to start this month, and the calculator works out how much spirit, sugar and water you need.
What you get:
• 41 tested recipes with illustrations: Polish nalewkas from sour cherry and quince to krupnik honey liqueur, plus specialities from other countries, from sloe gin and limoncello to pacharán, ginjinha and Corfu kumquat liqueur
• An "In season now" section with the fruit that is ripe right now
• Ingredients that rescale when you have more or less fruit
• A strength and sweetness calculator: how much spirit, sugar and water for the liqueur you want
• Strength correction for a finished liqueur that came out too strong or too weak
• Batches: save a jar, tick off the steps and see when the next one is due
• Reminders on the day of the next step, at the time you choose
• Your own reminders, for example “strain Grandma's liqueur in 5 weeks”
• Share a recipe as plain text, for example with your parents
• Search by liqueur or fruit
• Cup and spoon measures for liquids and sugar

Free: the calculator, six recipes (sour cherry, quince, lemon, raspberry, aronia and green walnut) and one batch with reminders. The full version is a one-time purchase with no subscription. It unlocks all recipes, unlimited batches and strength correction, and with Family Sharing you can share it with your family.
Everything stays on your phone. No account, no ads and no tracking. The app also works offline.
Calculator results are approximate, because alcohol mixed with water shrinks slightly. It is best to check the strength of a finished liqueur with an alcohol meter.
