Tip screens suggest 25% or more. Log a receipt and TipSense shows what you tipped, how it compares with the usual 15 to 20 percent, and what's left of your budget. Know what you tipped. Tablet tip screens default to 20, 25, even 30 percent, and some bills already add a service charge. TipSense makes every tip clear: log a restaurant receipt and see the tip as a percentage of the bill, how it compares with what's usual, and how dining out fits your monthly budget. LOG A RECEIPT IN SECONDS Scan the printed receipt with your camera and TipSense reads the restaurant, tax, tip and total. Or type it in. You check every amount before it's saved. Tax can be estimated from the city, and the tip amount and percentage stay in sync as you type. SEE EVERY TIP AS A PERCENTAGE Each receipt shows the tip against the pre-tax subtotal, the way US tipping is usually figured, with one plain verdict: • Light tip: under 15% • Standard: 15 to 20% • Generous: 20 to 25% • Over-tipped: over 25% Open any receipt to see what 15, 18, 20 or 25 percent would have cost. KEEP THE MONTH IN VIEW Set a monthly budget. This month's receipts and your recurring subscriptions, like streaming or a gym, add up as you go, so you always know what's left and when you've gone over. HEAR FROM OTHER DINERS Read and write restaurant reviews that answer the question diners care about: is the tip fair here, or is a service charge already on the bill? Rate a restaurant, vote on whether its tip is fair, and leave a comment. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT • Receipt photos are read on your phone. They aren't uploaded or saved. • TipSense asks before it saves receipts to your account or posts anything others can see, and says exactly what's shared. • Your receipts and budget are visible only to you. • No ads and no tracking. • Delete your account and all of your data from the app at any time.
