PureScan — pure scanning: scan, use, archive and share your important documents, swiftly.
PureScan straightens photographed documents, removes shadows and glare, replaces the paper with an even solid background, and erases handwriting you don't want. From camera to PDF or Word, everything happens on your device — no upload, no sign-up, no ads.
[Three steps]
1. Capture or import: the document camera detects the page, fires automatically and can scan several pages in a row. You can also use the regular camera, your photo library, or files (images or PDF).
2. Flatten and de-shadow: PureScan finds the four corners and flattens the page. Fine-tune with "Semi" (drag the corners, with a magnifier) or "Manual". Shadows, gradients and glare disappear together.
3. Export what you need: PDF, Word, JPG, PNG, or save straight to Photos.
[A flat, clean background]
• Pure white, the original paper color (brightened), or any color you pick
• Color, grayscale or black & white output
• Sliders for shadow removal and clarity
• The desk and everything outside the paper is cut away
[Erase handwriting]
• Auto-remove by pen color: blue, red, green or others, in one tap
• Tap a stroke: tap a signature, doodle or circle and the whole stroke disappears
• Brush: paint over anything you want gone
• Lasso: circle an area to erase all ink inside
• Erased areas are restored to the background underneath — only the handwriting goes, table lines and printed text stay
• Pinch to zoom (up to 8×) for precise lasso and brush work
• Undo, or restore everything anytime
[Export settings that fit]
• Images: JPG/PNG, quality, longest side in pixels, aspect ratio (A4, Letter, 1:1, 4:3, 16:9…, pad or crop), DPI
• PDF/Word: page size (A4, A5, B5, Letter, Legal, or match the image), orientation, margin, fit or fill, compression, grayscale, author
• One-tap presets: Print A4 300 dpi, Share 1600 px, Archive, Maximum quality
[Many documents, one photo]
• Five receipts on a desk? Each one is found automatically — "separate pages" or "one page"
• Merged pages are laid out for you (landscape/portrait, columns) and can be split again
[Make a whole book]
• Import up to 400 pages at once (photos, files, PDF) without slowing down or crashing
• Every page is detected and flattened in the background, not just the first few
• "Apply to all pages" unifies background, shadow, color and ink removal
• On iPad and iPhone Duo the tool panel can sit on the left or right (your hand)
[Text: auto-capture, edit, copy & paste]
• Text is recognized automatically after each scan (Chinese, English, Japanese, German) — entirely on your device
• Edit it in the Text page, copy a page or everything, paste, share
• PDFs become searchable and selectable; Word files include the recognized text
[Preview and share]
• After converting to PDF, Word or images, preview first and then share (can be turned off in Settings)
• One tap "Share with AI": text plus PDF go to the AI app you choose for summaries, translation or analysis
• Pick any file from Files and share it directly, no scan needed
• Long-press a page to share the image, copy the image or copy the text
[Nice details]
• Originals are always kept — every adjustment can be changed later
• A library keeps all your scans: rename, re-edit, export
• Hold the eye button to compare with the original
• Choose your look: glass, frosted or solid; white by default, black, seven rainbow colors or any color you like
• Chinese, English, Japanese and German
• iPhone, iPad and foldables (including iPhone Duo): a big canvas on the left and tools on the right when unfolded
[Privacy]
Scanning, text recognition and processing all happen on your device. PureScan collects no data and needs no account; files leave the app only when you choose to share them.
