His Majesty the Waffle King has decreed it: a phone that folds shall make waffles. From today, your phone is a waffle iron, and the fold is its hinge.
Pour batter onto the hot plate, fold the phone shut and bake. The cover display shows the closed iron: the light glows while it heats, steam puffs from the seams, and smoke lets you know, politely at first, that things are going wrong. Open it at just the right moment for a crisp, golden waffle.
Open too early and you pull apart strings of raw goo. Wait too long and the smoke turns white, then brown, then black. Pour onto a cold iron and the waffle clings to it as if it never wants to leave. Pour too much and the batter makes a run for it at the edges. Every waffle gets a grade. A perfect one earns an S and a nod from the King.
QUICK WAFFLE One waffle, one score. For cravings that won't wait.
SHOP SHIFT Five customers, five orders: light golden or well done, half a waffle or a round one, a food critic who notices everything and a commuter who should have left five minutes ago. Earn tips, build streaks and collect up to three stars.
DAILY CHALLENGE Every day a guest of honour drops by: the Mayor, the Astronaut, the Detective. One special waffle, the same for everyone in the world, and exactly one try. No pressure.
GAME CENTER Leaderboards for the daily special and your best shift. Achievements for the finest waffles, and a few for the most charred.
THE SMALL PRINT No in-app purchases. No tracking. No calories. Sadly, also no actual waffles.
Made for iPhone Duo with iOS 27.1 or later. On iPhone models that don't fold, the Waffle King is terribly sorry, but you can try anyway: a tap on the handle closes the iron instead of the fold.

Fixed: depending on how the phone was held, or with rotation lock on, the iron could stand upside down, put the plate on the lid's side, or show the message for phones that don't fold. The iron now always stays in place: lid on the cover side, plate below.
