Moving files between your Mac, shared storage, and remote servers can mean juggling Finder windows, mounted volumes, terminal commands, and half-finished transfers.
PocketOwl offers a calmer route. It brings the places you use into one focused menu bar utility. Collect files and folders in a temporary pocket, choose another destination, and send them on their way.
PocketOwl calls each configured place a station. The free edition lets you create up to three: a local folder, an SMB network share, or a folder reached through SSH/SFTP.
A SIMPLE TRANSFER WORKFLOW
• Browse local folders, network shares, and remote SSH/SFTP locations.
• Drag files and folders from a station into your pocket.
• Add files directly from Finder.
• Upload everything in the pocket to the currently selected destination.
• Move through folders without leaving PocketOwl.
CONTROL WHILE FILES MOVE
• Follow progress for each item during downloads and uploads.
• Cancel an individual transfer when you change your mind.
• Sort each station by kind, name, or date.
• Delete files and folders when your configured account has permission.
DESIGNED FOR REPEATED ROUTES
PocketOwl stays in the menu bar for quick access and can expand into a standard window when you need more room. It can restore unfinished pocket contents between launches, refresh remote stations in the background, and optionally start when you log in.
PRIVATE AND DIRECT
PocketOwl connects directly from your Mac to destinations you configure. It does not require a PocketOwl account, collect analytics, route transfers through a PocketOwl server, or provide cloud storage. The pocket is a temporary staging area rather than a sync service or backup. Passwords and private-key passphrases are stored in macOS Keychain, and SSH host keys are pinned to help detect unexpected server changes.
The free edition includes the complete pocket workflow with up to three stations.
