Conductory
Conduct a symphony orchestra
$9.99
Apple Vision
Take the podium in five breathtaking venues and lead Beethoven, Bach, Mozart and more with your own hand. The orchestra follows your tempo and dynamics.
Conductory puts you on the podium of a full symphony orchestra.
Pick a masterpiece, take the podium, and an orchestra of self-playing instruments performs it all around you: in a great concert hall, a gilded opera house, a gothic cathedral, a clifftop amphitheater, or on a frozen lake beneath the northern lights. Then raise your hand and lead it.
CONDUCT WITH YOUR HAND
• Beat time, and the orchestra follows your tempo, faster or slower.
• Beat high for loud, low for soft: the dynamics follow your hand.
• Hold a fermata, and bring each section in on cue with a look and a pinch.
• Choose how much you lead, from Listen to Full control. At Full control, the orchestra waits for your beat.
• A guided tutorial teaches the moves, one at a time.
• No hand tracking? Conduct by pinching and dragging instead.
45 MASTERPIECES, PERFORMED WHOLE
Symphonies, concertos, overtures and more, every movement, from full scores: Beethoven's nine symphonies, Brahms's four, Bach's Brandenburg Concertos Nos. 3 and 4 and Mass in B minor, Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, Mozart's Eine kleine Nachtmusik and Piano Concerto No. 23, Handel's Messiah, Dvořák's New World Symphony, Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, and works by Amy Beach, Lili Boulanger, Bruckner, Grieg and Pachelbel. Plus short arrangements of favorites like the Ode to Joy, The Blue Danube and In the Hall of the Mountain King.
A LIVING ORCHESTRA
• Violins, violas, cellos and basses, flutes, oboes, cor anglais, clarinets and bassoons, horns, trumpets, trombones and tuba, timpani, harp, piano, harpsichord and percussion. Each instrument plays its own part, its bow, keys or slide moving with the music.
• Spatial sound: every section plays from its seat around you.
• A small ensemble sits together in front of you; a full orchestra fills the stage.
• Follow the full score in a window beside you as it plays.
FIVE VENUES
The Hall: warm wood and a great organ. The Opera: gilded tiers and red velvet. The Cathedral: stone vaults and stained glass. The Amphitheater: a clifftop theatre at sunset. The Aurora: a frozen lake under the northern lights. Each with its own acoustics.
YOUR OWN SCORES
Import MusicXML (.musicxml, .mxl) or MIDI (.mid) files. Conductory reads every staff, seats the instruments the score needs, and performs it from beginning to end.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account, no ads, no tracking. Hand tracking and your surroundings are used only on your device, in real time, while you conduct. Your favorites and imported scores stay on your device.
Scores come from the OpenScore and Mutopia projects and are credited in the app with their licences.
