Moonsteps: Countdown for Kids
Count the sleeps, learn time
$1.99 · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Count the sleeps to birthdays, holidays and Christmas. Pop tonight’s moon at bedtime, discover how time fits together, and celebrate when the big day comes.
“Is it tomorrow yet?”
Moonsteps turns waiting into a gentle bedtime ritual. Children count down to the things they’re looking forward to – birthdays, holidays, Christmas, a visit from Granny – in sleeps. Every bedtime they pop tonight’s big moon, and the wait gets one sleep shorter.
MADE FOR CHILDREN TO USE THEMSELVES
Every child screen works from pictures, colours and numbers, so even a four-year-old who can’t read yet can follow their own countdown. A friendly owl keeps them company, and when the big day finally arrives there’s confetti and a big “Hooray!”.
IT TEACHES TIME, NOT JUST COUNTING
• This week’s nights in a row, with weekends to spot and the big day’s picture when it’s close
• “Before the big day, you’ll have…”: the teeth brushes, breakfasts and school days still to come
• Owl’s time explorer: swipe from a day of 24 hours to an hour of 60 minutes to a minute of 60 seconds, with a fun fact for each
BIG, BRIGHT AND SIMPLE
• Make a countdown in two taps: pick a picture, then pick the day
• 13 pictures and 6 colours, each with its own big cover illustration
• Swipe between countdowns, soonest first
• Designed for iPhone and iPad, in portrait and landscape
HOME SCREEN WIDGETS
Watch the sleeps tick down from the home screen, keep every countdown in view, or pop tonight’s moon straight from the widget at bedtime. Widgets need iOS 17 or later.
GROWN-UPS STAY IN CHARGE
Settings and deleting countdowns sit behind a parental gate. Choose when tonight’s moon wakes up (6, 7 or 8pm), whether children can make or change their own countdowns, and whether to show school days.
