Mac
Your Mac's apps, as fish in a little aquarium under the notch.
Every app you have open is a fish. The more memory an app uses, the bigger its fish. The harder it works, the faster it swims. Apps over 6 GB become a grand fish you can't miss.
Point at the notch and a lit 3D aquarium slides open: light shafts through the water, swaying plants, rocks, corals and a glowing heater. Point at any fish for its app's name; click it to see its CPU and memory over the last two minutes, what's running inside it, and a button that brings the app to the front.
Under the tank, six cards show CPU, GPU, memory, network, disk and power at a glance, each with its own little chart. Pick one and the water level charts it. Point at the network, GPU, disk or power card and its part of the tank lights up.
Open the Apps drawer for every app in one list. Sort by CPU, memory, energy or GPU, search by name, and see each app's threads, energy use and whether it is keeping your Mac awake.
When memory gets tight, the water turns amber and a pufferfish tells you which app would free the most memory if you quit it.
Closed, the tank shrinks to a thin strip under the notch. Your fish keep swimming, out of the way of your work. Pick how tall the strip is, from Slim to Huge, and show two readings beside the notch if you like.
Make it yours:
- Three worlds, each in 3D: Aquarium, Night Sky with rockets and satellites, and Balloon Sky with balloons and airships
- 3D quality Low, Medium or High, or off, to match your Mac
- Feed the fish, tap the glass, or line them up by memory
- An optional calm soundscape: soft sounds from the tank over a quiet soundtrack (off until you turn it on)
- Opens at login if you like; no Dock icon, no windows
Private by design. Notch Aquarium reads app memory and CPU on your Mac and never sends anything anywhere. No accounts, no analytics, no network access.
Requires a Mac with macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Works best on MacBooks with a notch; on other screens the tank hangs from the menu bar.
Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
- Spot your AI agents: apps like Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and Cursor get a fish with a small glowing lure, like an anglerfish. So does a terminal running an agent such as Claude Code. The lure pulses faster while the agent works.
- The closed tank's water now reaches both ends of the notch.
