A desk lamp for your Mac. Everything but the window you are working in fades into a warm, dark room. Turn LIGHT up for a brighter room, and pick a bulb you like.
A desk lamp for your screen. Everything is dimmed except the window you are working in, which sits in a soft pool of warm light.
Sticky Lamp lives in your menu bar as a little lamp. Click it to switch the light on or off. When it is on, every other window, the desktop and the clutter around your work fade into a dark room, and the light follows you from window to window as you click around.
Right-click the lamp for its control panel, a small walnut-and-brass cabinet:
- The LIGHT knob sets how dark the room gets.
- The bulb selector picks Candle, Warm or Daylight, each with its own glow.
- Pull out the drawer for separate ROOM and LAMP controls, so you can dim the lit window too on late nights, and to start Sticky Lamp at login.
Switch the lamp on or off from anywhere with Control-Option-L.
No setup and no permissions to grant. Sticky Lamp doesn't read what is on your screen: it only asks macOS where the front window is.
Private by design. No accounts, no analytics, no network access. Your settings stay on your Mac.

- Clearer controls: LIGHT, ROOM and LAMP all read as light now, so higher is always brighter. Your settings carry over.
- LAMP can dim your window all the way to 0, with a stop at 30% that is easy to find.
- Much lighter on your Mac while it sits idle: less memory and less energy.
