Box of Whispers helps grandparents make personal gifts for their grandchildren to open on the dates they choose. Write a letter, add a photo, record your voice or make a video. Give them something from you for a birthday, a new beginning or an ordinary day in the years ahead.
MAKE A GIFT IN FOUR SIMPLE STEPS
1. Choose one grandchild or several.
2. Add your words, photo, voice or video.
3. Choose an opening date and time.
4. Preview your message and check the details before sending.
Save a draft and come back when you are ready. Choose whose name appears on each gift, use an eighteenth or twenty-first birthday, or set a different opening date for each person. Future gifts stay out of the recipient's inbox until their opening date.
A COPY IN THEIR CARE
Invite the recipient's Apple account, or a parent's or guardian's account for a young child. Check delivery for confirmation that a copy has been saved in the recipient's own iCloud. An invitation alone does not confirm this.
OPEN, LISTEN AND KEEP
Recipients open ready messages at their own pace. Revisit opened memories and save ordinary copies outside the app. Creators can also make a recovery archive for their drafts and author copies, with its recovery key kept separately.
BEGIN WITH FIVE FREE GIFTS
Create and send five gifts free. Sending one gift to several grandchildren counts once. Receiving, opening, keeping, backups and recovery are free.
Choose Yearly for creator access that renews annually, or choose Generations to keep making gifts with one payment. Apple's checkout shows each plan's local price and renewal terms before you buy. Manage or cancel Yearly through Apple; buying Generations does not cancel an existing Yearly subscription. Eligible earlier Plus purchases keep their permanent creator access. Restore purchases from Plans & pricing. If Yearly ends, your existing gifts still work.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND
Sharing needs iCloud, an internet connection and enough storage in the family's Apple accounts. Apple may charge separately for more iCloud storage. Keep account access and separate copies safe. Neither plan guarantees a particular number of years of app or iCloud availability.
Opening dates are controlled by the app. They do not guarantee that someone who bypasses it cannot read a gift early. Alerts depend on device permissions and settings; you can always check ready messages in the app.
The verified sender can request removal of their own eligible sent gifts. Updated recipient apps apply removal when they next connect. Copies saved outside Box of Whispers cannot be recalled.
