Value Stream Mapping turns the classic lean whiteboard exercise into a digital tool you can carry to the shop floor. Draw the material and information flows that bring a product from order to delivery, record the numbers that matter, and let the app show you where time and inventory are being lost.
MAP IT
• The full value-stream icon set: processes with data boxes, customers and suppliers, inventory, supermarkets, FIFO lanes, buffer and safety stock, trucks, trains, planes and ships, kanban posts, load leveling, operators, kaizen bursts and more.
• Push, pull and material-flow arrows, manual and electronic information flows, production, withdrawal and signal kanban paths.
• Pan, zoom, drag and connect directly on the canvas. Undo and redo.
• Keep a current-state map, derive the future state from it, and sketch the ideal state.
MEASURE IT
• Data boxes for cycle time, value-creating time, changeover, uptime, operators, EPE, scrap and batch size.
• Takt time from customer demand and available time. Inventory counts become days of demand automatically.
• Analysis view with a cycle-time-vs-takt chart, the lead-time ladder, total production lead time, processing time and process-cycle efficiency.
• A register of your kaizen bursts: the countermeasures that lead to the future state.
WATCH IT FLOW
• The flow animation simulates your map with its own numbers: the supplier delivers at takt, each process works at its effective cycle time, the customer pulls at takt.
• See material move step to step, information pulse back from the customer, and WIP pile up in front of the constraint.
• Bottlenecks and starved processes are highlighted as they emerge. Play, pause, restart, 0.5x to 5x speed.
• End-of-run summary of where material accumulated, which process limited the flow and how much demand was covered, downloadable as a PDF report or CSV.
BRING YOUR DATA
• Import a map from a CSV or spreadsheet file using the bundled template, or from any table with name and type columns. Positions and connections are optional: the app lays out and links the stream for you.
• Import value-stream drawings from Microsoft Visio (.vsdx) and spreadsheets from Microsoft Excel (.xlsx).
• A built-in guide shows exactly how to format your sheets, with examples.
SHARE IT
• Export the map as a PDF drawing or PNG image, the data as CSV, or the whole map as a document you can open on another device.
• Maps appear in the Files app and open directly from mail or AirDrop.
LEARN IT
• An in-app reference explains the method, the time metrics, the flow concepts and every icon and arrow.
