Nearwatch answers at a glance. It collects the reports that police and fire departments publish every day and puts them on a map, block by block. No account, no sign-up. THE LAST 48 HOURS IN YOUR CITY Nearwatch is a readable police blotter for your neighborhood. It shows what was reported over the past two days: break-ins, robberies, assaults, shots fired, fires and serious crashes. Some cities publish a day or two late. There, the map reaches back up to 72 hours. WHAT'S IN IT • Crime reports and police calls • Fires and serious accidents • Weather warnings, earthquakes, wildfires, hurricanes, tsunamis and volcanoes • AMBER Alerts and missing persons Routine calls, traffic stops, paperwork and medical transports are left out, so the map shows what matters for your safety. HOW TO READ IT • Zoom out for a heat map of where reports cluster, zoom in for each one • Tap a pin for type, address, time and the agency behind it • Filter by category • Share a report as an image with friends and family • Optional evening reminders to check the map CITIES ON THE MAP San Francisco, Seattle, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Dallas, Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Raleigh, Montgomery County (MD) and Prince William County (VA). Weather, earthquake, wildfire and missing-person alerts nationwide. STRAIGHT FROM THE SOURCE Every report comes from a public agency's open data, and each pin names the agency. No rumors, no user posts. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your location stays on your device. No account, no tracking, no ads. PRICE Free for 3 days. After that, unlock Nearwatch with a one-time in-app purchase. No subscription. Nearwatch shows what agencies publish. Reports can be delayed or incomplete. Nearwatch is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 911.

  • This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.

• The heat map is new. Your city is laid out as a grid of blocks instead of soft blobs, so you can see at a glance which blocks are busy and which are quiet. • Zoomed in, the heat map now holds up. It used to wash out once you got close to street level. • One color runs through the app. Buttons, switches and the tab bar now carry the same orange the heat map glows in. • Settings are quieter and easier to read.
