The tuner from Notation is now a standalone app for iPhone and iPad. Play a single note and see right away whether it is sharp, flat or in tune.
KEEP YOUR NOTE IN VIEW
Chromatic detection shows the note, frequency and deviation in cents. Color bars help you tune. Directly below them, pitch history shows how your note has changed over the last eight seconds.
YOUR INSTRUMENT, YOUR TUNING
Choose a profile for guitar, bass, ukulele or violin. Options include standard and Drop D guitar, four- or five-string bass, High G or Low G ukulele, and standard violin. Tune automatically or lock onto a string or your own target note.
LISTEN AND COMPARE
Play the strings of your selected profile or choose a note and octave yourself. Reference tones follow your concert pitch setting. Microphone measurement pauses while a reference tone is playing.
THE WAY YOU PLAY
Set concert A between 415 and 466 Hz. Choose German note names with H and B or international names with B and Bb. On supported iPhones, a brief vibration can confirm a stable, in-tune note.
TRY IT OUT
In guide mode, choose a note and use the arrows to explore how the display responds to a higher or lower pitch. Guide mode and reference tones work without microphone permission.
IN YOUR LANGUAGE
The app is available in German, English, Spanish, French, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese. Choose your language directly in the tuning options.
YOUR SOUND STAYS WITH YOU
The microphone signal is processed entirely on your device. The app does not save or transmit audio recordings. It works without an account or internet connection, contains no ads and uses no tracking. Pitch history is held only temporarily in memory.
REQUIREMENTS
iOS 27.0 or iPadOS 27.0 or later. Microphone permission is required for pitch detection.
