Duet is a PDF reader for people who need to make sense of what they read. Highlight a passage and it becomes a card on a Canvas beside the page. Group your cards, connect them, add notes and questions, and work out what you think. Leave and come back later, and you're on the line you left.

THE CANVAS
Every highlight arrives as a card, linked to its page. On the Canvas you can:
• Clip passages straight from your PDF
• Add sticky notes and text
• Group and connect ideas with shapes and arrows
• Lay out numbers in tables
• Add photos from your library
• Draw with your finger, or with Apple Pencil on iPad
• Record voice notes, transcribed on your device so you can search them
PRIVATE AI, ON YOUR DEVICE
Ask about a passage, a card or a group of cards, and pin the answer to your Canvas. Answers come from your document and show the pages they came from. Duet uses Apple Intelligence on your device, so it works without internet, even on a flight, and your document stays with you. For bigger questions across a whole report, you can let Duet use Apple's Private Cloud Compute in Settings. It's only used when you're online. AI features need a device that supports Apple Intelligence.
ON IPHONE DUO
Read with the phone closed. Open it, and the page and its Canvas sit side by side. Half-folded like a book or flat on a table, the layout changes and every feature stays. Close it and you're back on the line you left.
ON IPAD AND IPHONE
iPad gives the Canvas the most room. Write and draw with Apple Pencil, and use Scribble to turn handwriting into text. On iPhone, the page and its Canvas are one tap apart. On iPad and iPhone Duo, open two reports side by side in Split View.
WIDGETS
For your Home Screen and Lock Screen:
• Continue Reading opens the line you left. The larger sizes show your latest highlights too.
• Recents shows your latest documents.
• Latest Highlights shows recent passages from all your PDFs.
SIX THEMES
Ink & Paper, Studio Green, Studio Black, Tapestry, Cyanotype and Dawn. Each one changes the background, cards, highlight colour and app icon.
YOUR LIBRARY
Each PDF shows its page count and how many highlights you've made. Import from Files, Mail and Safari.
