Scanner reads QR codes and barcodes the moment you point your camera at them — and tells you what's inside, in plain words. On iPhone and iPad. WHAT IT UNDERSTANDS • Links – open them in your browser (with a warning for unencrypted http links) • Wi-Fi codes – see the network name and copy the password in one tap • Contacts (vCard, MeCard) – name, phone, email at a glance • Email, phone numbers, text messages and map locations – open the right app directly • Product barcodes (EAN, UPC) – look the product up on the web • Everything else – copy or share the text ALSO • Scan a code from a photo in your library • Flashlight for dark places (on devices that have one), tap to focus • History of your scans, with swipe to delete and undo • Light and dark mode • On iPad: any orientation, plus Split View and Stage Manager. The camera needs Scanner to be the only app on screen; scanning from a photo works in any layout PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no ads, no tracking. Codes are read on your device by Apple's built-in Vision framework. Your scans and history stay on your iPhone or iPad; nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to open or share it. Supported formats: QR Code, Data Matrix, Aztec, PDF417, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, Codabar, ITF.
