EXPLORE BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD Browse prepared font previews and read the saved Sakaskada article from Sinhala Wikipedia. The included library works offline. For compatible new catalog entries, Akuru can download prepared previews without first downloading each font. Try your own text, explore characters and adjust the preview size. Live previews reuse matching included or cached files, or download the selected font when needed. A LIBRARY THAT CAN GROW Akuru checks its online font catalog at launch. You can also choose Refresh font catalog from the Fonts menu or the library toolbar. Font downloads come primarily from GitHub repositories, alongside other original font sources. Included and previously downloaded files remain available offline. New fonts need an internet connection to download. Application updates come through the Mac App Store. INSTALL AND MANAGE YOUR CHOICES Install selected fonts through macOS font registration. Akuru keeps its managed copies and installation records in its app container and lets you remove those copies. Search the library and save favourites to return to fonts you like. MEET THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE LETTERS Explore designer and contributor profiles, original credits and source information. Akuru recognises the people whose work supports Sinhala typography and the language's digital use. DASUN'S WIJESEKARA KEYBOARD Includes the original keyboard layout, icon and MIT licence by Dasun Sameera Weerasinghe. Open the bundled files in Finder and follow the local setup guide. Keyboard setup is manual; this App Store edition does not install, activate or update the keyboard automatically. FONT SOURCES AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Akuru and Damith Rushika Kothalawala claim no copyright ownership of third-party fonts and grant no additional use, modification, embedding or redistribution rights. Each font's original terms apply, including to proofing. Review the licence and obtain any required permission from the designer or rights holder when terms are missing, unclear or do not cover your intended use. Existing licence grants remain valid. Some fonts have restrictions or unresolved permission records. A free download or preview does not establish commercial-use permission or automatically qualify as fair use. Original notices and source addresses remain available in the app. The Sakaskada specimen is credited to Sinhala Wikipedia contributors under CC BY-SA 4.0. Akuru is a free community project by Damith Rushika Kothalawala for people who write and design in Sinhala on a Mac. No Akuru account is required.

Akuru 2.2.0 restores the online font catalog while keeping the included 54-family library available offline. - Refresh catalog content from the Fonts menu or library toolbar. - Load prepared previews for compatible new entries without downloading each font first. - Download new font files when needed for custom text or installation, and reuse matching included or cached files. - Read clearer font-source and permission guidance beside the font controls, in the licence viewer and in About. - Scroll the About panel while keeping its Close button accessible. This release does not add font families to the current catalog. Dasun's bundled Wijesekara keyboard files and manual setup guide remain included. Application updates continue through the Mac App Store.
