Capital Valley is an educational game that teaches you how to invest. It's a simulation of the economy and the financial markets, where you start with virtual money and build your portfolio one investment at a time. No jargon, no lectures, no real money. LEARNING BY DOING You read the news: an official announcement, an expert opinion, or just a rumor. You decide where to put your money. Then you find out what your decisions led to and, more importantly, why. Little by little, you learn to weigh the news before you invest. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN You get to know the main types of investments: savings accounts, funds, stocks, bonds, real estate, and private equity. You learn what each one can earn and how much risk it carries. You build a balanced portfolio and track how its value changes. Every investment is explained simply, right when you need it, in a short version or a more detailed one, depending on how deep you want to go. A WORLD TOUR OF THE MARKETS The game has five levels, each one a year in the life of an investor, played out in about 30 minutes. You make your first investments in a small village, then move on to New York, Geneva, Tokyo, and London. Each level unlocks new investments and ends with a review of what you've built. At the end of the journey, the final recap reveals your investor profile. IN CLASS Your teacher gives you the class code, you join the game with just your first name, and the whole class plays through the same world together. Your game follows you to any computer or smartphone, so you can keep playing at home once class is over. TEACHERS AND SCHOOLS The education version is free for high schools everywhere, with no student accounts and no email addresses required. It comes with five ready-to-use lesson plans for students from age 15 through higher education, and a dashboard for keeping track of the class.
