Today's root might be graph, "to write or draw." Photograph counts. So do telegraph, biography and calligraphy. The rarer the word, the more it scores: photograph earns three points, sphygmograph earns fourteen.
HOW IT WORKS
• One root a day, the same for everyone, and free.
• Type every English word that contains it before the clock runs out.
• Rarer words score more, and long words earn extra.
• Then see every word you missed, each with a plain definition.
LEARN AS YOU PLAY
• Every word shows how it's built: calli + graph + y, "beautiful handwriting."
• Lookalikes are explained, not just rejected: reward holds "ward" but grew from something else.
• Save the words you want to keep in your word bank.
PLAY YOUR WAY
• 60-second, 90-second or untimed rounds, all free.
• A streak and a week at a glance, plus a Home Screen widget with today's root.
• Share your score without giving away a single word.
