Gale-force winds, thick fog, a lightning strike or two… and we still want to play pickleball!
A one-on-one (singles) pickleball game in a storm.
The wind carries the ball. Fog hides your opponent's side. And when the count hits 0, lightning strikes whichever court the ball is over.
Read the weather and hit the ball into your opponent's court.
■ Just taps and swipes
Your player moves automatically. When the ring at your feet lights up, tap.
Tap to dink the ball softly into the kitchen, swipe up for a lob, swipe down for a drive. Drive a high ball and it becomes a smash. How far left or right you touch sets your aim.
A short tutorial walks you through it the first time.
■ Wind, fog, and lightning
- Wind: it carries the ball. Read the wind and your shot lands in. Misread it and it drifts out.
- Fog: your opponent's side gets hard to see.
- Lightning: when the charge builds, a countdown appears. At 0, it strikes the court the ball is over, and the other side gets a point, no matter who served.
The storm grows wilder as the score climbs.
■ Two venues
- Night Harbor: it starts as a calm night with fireworks. Then the weather turns, and a storm rolls in.
- Cruise Deck: a court on the deck of a ship at sea, stormy from the first serve.
■ Real pickleball rules, short games
One underhand serve. Side-out scoring: only the serving side can score.
Stay out of the kitchen: volley the ball while you're in it and you lose the rally. The two-bounce rule applies too.
Games go to 7, win by 2 (capped at 10).
■ Outfits
Choose a skin tone, hairstyle, and hair color for both you and your opponent.
Keep spotting the rare things that blow by during a match (popcorn, cotton candy, a swim ring, a seagull, and more) to unlock hats in the same shapes, plus balls, paddles, and shirts.
■ Records and sharing
The game keeps track of your wins and losses, your win rate, how many times you were struck, and your longest rally.
Turn your results into a single image and share it.
■ More
- Three difficulty levels
- Four camera views. Plays in portrait or landscape
- You can tone down the lightning flashes in Settings
- English and Japanese
■ Please note
The screen flashes brightly when lightning strikes. You can tone it down under "Lightning effects" in Settings.
This is just a game. If you hear real thunder or the wind picks up, head indoors. Play pickleball somewhere safe.
