Send digital audio between iOS devices over USB. Route up to four stereo streams with AUv3 plug-ins. Compatible hosts and wired hardware required.
Send digital audio between iPhones and iPads over USB. AUB is designed for low-latency transfer of up to four independent stereo streams between compatible AUv3 hosts.
SETUP: CONNECT YOUR DEVICES.
1. Open the main AUB app on both devices. Use the home-screen setup to enable Local Network access, then allow permission when prompted.
2. Connect a compatible USB hub to the receiving device, using the required Camera Adapter or USB adapter. Supply power as needed.
3. Plug the sending device’s USB data cable into the hub.
RECEIVER: LOAD AUB RECEIVE.
On the receiving device, load AUB Receive as an AUv3 instrument in your host. Receive is not an Inter-App Audio source.
SENDER: INSERT AUB SEND.
On the sending device, insert AUB Send as an AUv3 effect after the instrument or track you want to send. Choose the receiver inside Send.
Match the numbers: Send 1 → Receive 1, and so on.
SYNC: TEMPO AND OFFSET.
Enable Ableton Link in both compatible hosts to share tempo and beat sync. Audio can still arrive with a timing difference, so use AUB’s measured offset suggestion to adjust your sending host’s sync offset when needed.
The suggestion estimates beat alignment, not total audio latency. Overall delay depends on your devices, hosts, connection and receive-buffer setting.
RESET TIMING: REFRESH RECEIVER TIMING.
If incoming audio later sounds out of sync, tap Reset timing in Receive. It refreshes receiver timing without reconnecting or changing your buffer. Listen again before adjusting your offset. A brief audio interruption may occur.
REQUIREMENTS.
Two compatible devices running iOS/iPadOS 15 or later, AUv3-compatible hosts and a supported wired network setup. Cables, hubs and adapters must support the required connection; a charging cable alone does not guarantee compatibility.
Enable background audio in your host when needed. Host apps and connection hardware are sold separately.
