Worde is an English dictionary made to be read, in the manner of a finely printed reference book: warm paper, deep ink, and a little red for the lexicographer’s marks. • 157,000 headwords, with clear definitions and examples • American and British pronunciation, with a speaker for each • Etymologies that trace a word back through the languages it came from • 16,000 quotations, linked to the words they use • 759 engravings from the great illustrated dictionaries of the 1890s, beside the words they show • Synonyms, rhymes, words that sound alike, and anagrams • A Word of the Day, the same for every reader, with a Home Screen widget • Look up a word from any app: select it, tap Share, then Worde • An alphabet rail for browsing, as you would turn the pages of a book • Learn: spaced review of the words you keep, flashcards and a quiz • Light and Dark pages, Lamplight for reading at night, and a choice of typefaces Every word lives on your iPhone, so Worde works anywhere, with or without a connection.
