SonicPro turns your iPhone into a handheld sound level meter that keeps evidence. Open it, and the number in front of you is the sound around you.
[Real-time Sound Level]
Instant dBA, dBC and dBZ level with Leq, peak and min / max, plus a moving 10-second trend. Choose Fast, Slow or Impulse time weighting, and A, C or Z frequency weighting, the way a professional meter works. Overload and under-range are flagged so you know when a reading can be trusted.
[Spectrum and Octave Analysis]
A 72-band FFT spectrum with the dominant frequency marked, a scrolling spectrogram, and 1/1 and 1/3 octave band levels from 31.5 Hz to 16 kHz. You see not only how loud it is, but what it sounds like — which is what tells a fan from a drill from traffic.
[Calibration]
Fine-tune with a ±12 dB offset, or calibrate against a 94 dB reference source in about three seconds. Every session records the calibration it was measured with.
[Noise Dose]
Follow today's exposure using OSHA (90 dBA / 8 h, 5 dB exchange rate) or NIOSH (85 dBA / 8 h, 3 dB exchange rate) criteria: dose percentage, TWA, and allowed versus actual time at each level. The dose resets itself every day.
[Evidence Camera]
Take photos and 1080p video with the reading, timestamp, device model, location, average / min / max and the last 10-second curve burned into the frame. Drag the curve wherever you want it before you shoot. Ultra-wide, wide and telephoto lenses, a torch for dark corners, and everything lands in the built-in album ready to share.
[Recording, Playback and Export]
Save a session as metrics plus audio, play it back later, and re-analyse the file offline: spectrogram, average spectrum and octave levels. Export the per-second level curve as CSV, or the recording itself as m4a. Add a site photo or a location to any record afterwards.
[Alerts and Appearance]
Set a threshold and get a warning when levels stay above it. Light and dark appearance, and a choice of 9 languages: Simplified Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Russian, Arabic and Hindi.
