Play on any iPhone: tap the Fold button and Chirpfold flaps. On iPhone Duo, fold the phone itself (18° is enough) to unlock looks and top the leaderboard. Free, no ads.
Made for iPhone Duo: open it, hold it sideways and fold it to play. Other iPhone models can play with an on-screen Fold button, but unlocking looks, sharing and the leaderboard need real folds on iPhone Duo.
Chirpfold is chirp + fold. Hold one half of the phone in each hand and fold it inward a little: Chirpfold, your round little bird, flaps its wings. Open it back a bit, then fold again. Guide Chirpfold between towers of paper blocks and see how far you can fly.
A LIGHT FOLD IS ENOUGH
By default, folding 18° from where you are counts as a flap. You never have to fold it shut, and you can play with the phone half open. Want a firmer fold? Tap in the menu to switch to Medium (32°) or Deep (50°).
WINGS THAT MOVE WITH THE HINGE
Chirpfold's wings follow the hinge. The corner gauge shows when a fold is deep enough, and every flap comes with a light haptic tap.
DRESS UP CHIRPFOLD
Mix and match 10 colors, 12 accessories (hats, two kinds of sunglasses, a scarf, a bow tie and a gold medal), 3 trails that follow Chirpfold and 3 pillar styles. Most of them are unlocked by playing with real folds, through your score, the time of day and the weather, and can't be bought. Twelve can only be bought, one at a time: the Newspaper, Kraft Paper and Paper Crane colors; the Golden Phoenix, a gold bird with long tail plumes; the Birthday Cake Hat and the Aviator Cap; the Heart Shades and the Gold Medal; the Rainbow Streamer and Paper Stars trails; and the Book Stacks and Candy Blocks pillars. They only change the look: pillars keep the same size and gaps, and trails never hit anything.
YOUR TIME, YOUR WEATHER
The scene follows your clock: day, dusk and night. Turn on Local Weather in Settings and the weather outside shows up in the game too: sunny, a few clouds, cloudy, windy, foggy, rain, a sun shower with a rainbow, a thunderstorm with lightning, or snow. Rain and snow come light or heavy, and snow piles up on the pillars. Your approximate location is used only to look up the weather, and only after you turn it on.
SPECIAL DAYS
Some skies you can only run into, and they don't need your location. On the nights of real meteor showers, seven times a year, shooting stars streak across the sky. In about one daytime or dusk round in fifty, colorful paper planes drift by. Halloween (October 29–31) brings jack-o'-lanterns, bats and a big orange moon. Christmas (December 23–25) brings snow, string lights on the pillars and a golden sleigh across the moon.
COLLECT THE WEATHER
The Wardrobe has a Weather tab with 13 kinds of weather. Finish a real-fold round in one to light it up, then pick it to play in any time. The first choice, Real Sky, follows your clock, the local weather and any special day. Without Local Weather, the everyday kinds unlock as you play instead; the four special days only count when you run into them. Weather is free and can't be bought.
NO IPHONE DUO? PRESS FOLD
On other iPhone models, and on iPhone Duo while it's closed, a Fold button in the lower right corner stands in for the hinge. In "Button mode" rounds don't unlock looks, can't be shared and stay off the leaderboard; scores are kept on your phone. Purchased looks work in both modes.
GAME CENTER LEADERBOARD
Compare your best score with friends and players everywhere. Only rounds played with real folds on iPhone Duo go on the leaderboard. Signing in is optional: the game works fully without it.
SHARE YOUR ROUND
After each real-fold round, share a score card with Chirpfold's outfit, your score and best, stamped "Real fold on iPhone Duo".
PAUSE ANY TIME
Close the phone or switch to another app and the game pauses. Open it and fold to keep flying. After a crash, fold once to play again.
FREE TO PLAY
No ads, no energy, no timers. It plays offline; only the leaderboard, local weather and purchases go online. All the art and sounds are made by the app itself. In English, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Spanish, Arabic, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.
